From what I have read so far on the forum, I am way out of my league here. I am the plant superintendent of a medium sized water treatment plant in the Midwesern United States. I have a bachelor of science degree in Marketing with a minor in Economics, little if any computer, software, etc clases.

Our plant was rebuilt in 1998, and we have an ABB.inc (Bailey Controls for us old timers) DCS that controls the plant and the PI sytem for documentation, reports to the state and city, etc.

I am the end user of PI and do all of the reports in Excel. I control and populate the Excel sheets with VBA code. I am pretty much self taught, a lot of trial and error, the last couple of years discovered OSI tech support and they help me if I just cannot figure something out on my own. Most of my stuff is now automated, my monthly report to the state for example, I come in on the 2 or third day of the month, start a surrogate spreadsheet which then starts the main sheet. I go back to the breakroom for breakfast. When I come back to the office, the report is done, saved to Flash Drives, printed and I am done for the month.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

It is always interesting to read about how PI is being used, especially in different industries.
The idea of the forum is to help out all PI users of all levels, although I suspect you know your way around PI quite well. Smile

OSI Tech Support still remain one of the big plus points of OSI against it competitors.

Look forward to your posts on the forum!

Cheers.
