add installed PIsdk to different PC Options · View

Hi,

I have PIsdk installed on a PC without VB.
I need to make a VB program that connects to PI and retrieves some values.
In order to use PIsdk (I dont have the installation), i copied folder "PISDK" and tried to add reference in VB.
However it doesnt seem to work...
what can i do? how can i add PIsdk without Installation?

Hi...welcome to the forum.

Couple of points:

- If you want to distribute PI SDK with your application then you need to talk with your OSIsoft account manager about licences for distributing the PI SDK.
- If you don't have a valid installation package for PI SDK then maybe you shouldn't be using on another machine (there's too many assemblies and registry settings to do it manually). How did you install it on the machine you are using now?
