(repost from PISDK forum)

Dear PI Users;

Been monitoring our Pi Performance using the Performance Counters for quite some time. When we fixed the problem with our collective suddenly our monitoring stops working, all performance points is showing "Shutdown" and log says Performance Counter not found in the server. I tried recreating the performance counter tags in SMT but the Performance Counter for PI is not available in the server.

Please help.

Regards,

Jayson

Hi Jason!

Go onto your server and see if the perfmon service is running. If not try loading it through ICU. From ICU open up PIPC\Interfaces\piperfmon_basic\piperfmon_basic.bat and try and start it. Also make sure your location codes and point source is correct.

If they are try turning on interface debugging through ICU (It should be a checkbox in the PIPerfMon tab). Save and restart the interface. Hopefully that'll get you started.

Hello ShellAnalyst!

Apparently Windows disabled the counters that causes problem in loading counters in PIPerfMon (don't know how it happened). All need to do is enable all the performance counter in the registry.

The solution can be found in OsiSoft Knowledgebased Article (3067OSI8).

Thanks for your reply and solution, this has been very helpful in monitoring the interface. (monitoring the monitorer...lol)

Regards,

Jayson
