Hi there

I use ProcessBook 3.2.0.0 and is trying to create a batch group with a search field and 4 trends and up to 10 PI-tags showing in each trend. This is probably a bit different from the usual approach where one PI-tag is compared between 2 or more batches. The different PI-tags are distinguished with full/dottet/dashed etc. lines - all with the same color... a bit like this:

And this is a preview of my total setup.

I only need to show one (or on rare occations 2) batches at a time, but I need to clearly distinguish between the curves of each PI-tag within the same trend display.

So I would like to acchieve something where each PI-tag+line has its one line-color, and when/if I select a second batch this will be shown with the same color code, but with dashed lines instead.

So within the same trend display you'll have:

PI-tag1, batch1: ------
PI-tag2, batch1: ------
PI-tag3, batch1: ------
PI-tag1, batch2: - - - -
PI-tag2, batch2: - - - -
PI-tag3, batch2: - - - -

Does this make sense? And how do I acchieve it?

And second: As the PI-tags them self has very little meaningful names, I would rather have the description shown in the legend instead of the PI-tag it self. I haven't seen a way to do this in a batchgroup, whereas if I just make a single trenddisplay within a processbook I can get them to show this and also change colors to my liking.

I hope someone can help :-)

Hello Nigo,

What version of Batchview are you using?? You should be able to setup your trend displays using the properties section of the elements in a batchview display. Batchview 3.1.4 allows you to setup the "classic" layout of different colours per batch, but individual line types for each PI tag. You can edit this to have individual colours for tags and different linetypes for each batch (I think it's called a "tag" scheme Think ).

You will have to play around to get it exactly has you need it, but I have something similar setup and it really does make it easier to analyse batch data quickly.

Hope this helps.

Oh forgot to say, use alias's instead of direct references to tags, that way you can reference things by a "description". For example, if you have a tag TI-1234, and its a temperature on a tank, create an alias that says "Tank ABC Temp". The alias will now show on the trend instead of the tag name. Simples!

Thanks... I would also like to use alias's but whoever originally setup our PI system didn't knew what alias's were about so he just gave them nonsense names.

I'll check up on our version of Batchview :-)
