Dear PI People;

We are currently having problems on the data being written to our PITags.

There are two (2) tags thats being populated with values automatically. The first tag is reading its values from an equipment and the other tag has a reference tag on the first tag (sourcetag is the first tag). As we checked the values on the PICOMP table, the first tag is showing good values while the other tag is showing some zero entries. Below is the result of the query. Can anyone help us troubleshoot this problem.

Hi Jayson,

When you have 0 for tag2, what is the status value?

Hi,

the status value of tag2 is 0 for both 0 and non-0 values.

How is your Tag2 linked to Tag1 ??

I'd use a PE for this with a simple calc...
Event='Tag1','Tag1'
Location1 = 2 (or whatever you have your recalculator set to*)
Location3 = 1 (copies timestamp from source tag)

Have you watched the data for Tag1 as it arrives from the instrument?
If you have scan times set to retrieve these values I've seen values come into our PI system then shortly after change and I can only think this is due to network hiccups. So if you are experiencing something like that it would explain why Tag2 takes the first value then doesn't update with the correct value when it arrives.

*Believe it or not the recalculator is actually useful for something.
