Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Bailey SemAPI connector and interface for VMS? The rate at which our tags are updating is becoming more and more unacceptable for our users who are looking for better resolution on critical pressure testing tags and the like. We had an incident recently where such a test produced such sporadic recorded results in PI (seems to be a reading only every minute and jumping by a huge amount sometimes, losing the real picture of what was happening). I don't really understand the control network side of things so I don't know whether this would be a limitation of the instruments or control system themself, but we've been assured that at that side of the chain the resolution is in miliseconds of accuracy. We've told them PI can't quite get to that level but surely every minute is a bit much in this day and age of cheap hard disks/bandwidth. Anyone have any ideas where we could start looking to tune this system better? The net node was setup some 10 years ago and may very well have been tuned for the limited PI2 system of the day!
Who ate all the PIs?
