Hey all,

My name is Brendan and I'm currently going into my junior year in college as a double major in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry. I'm doing a summer internship at a pharma company, and I was introduced to PI here. It has been a major help and problem for me so far, as I'm fairly new to it as well as vba. I work mainly with PIDataLink. From what I've learned PI is an important tool in many industries, so I would like to be able to increase my understanding and overall abilities with the historian.

Hi afk and welcome.

Internship hey, sounds like you have a lot of learning ahead of you.
I know it sounds obvious but once you get the basics understood and planted in your mind, everything starts to become clear with PI and you constantly see ways to improve things - be it reports, displays or your own applications.

You are correct that PI is becoming increasing common and important in many industries, in particular manufacturing & oil/gas refineries. It is a good skill to pick up as part of your chemical engineering qualifications...good luck and look forward to seeing you on the forums.
