I've been searching for a way to do this task.
I have a display file (.pdi) and I want to add it to a Processbook file (.piw) I always use. Is this possible?

Here's a crude way to do it. Just open an existing workbook page, or create a new one. Then open the PID that you want and highlight, then copy all the items on the display. Then just paste them on the blank workbook page. There may be a more clean way to do it, but I'm not sure.

I've been hunting for a cleaner way to do it, but I have not been able to find it. I'd rather not have to do copy and paste because I'd also have to move code over. Plus, this is something I end up wanting to do regularly, just have not figured out an easy way yet.
I just don't believe they'd let you take displays in a processbook and save them as .pdi files but not let you take a .pdi and add it to a processbook.

Hey Big2 (same guy as Big?)  In all my experience I have never thought about adding a display to a workbook...you can add a link to a display but I don't think embedding a display is an expose method. Let me do some digging... Principal Consultant

Just thought I'd share the main situation I encounter this problem. I maintain three different processbooks, and not all of them have the same displays and each in meant for a different group of people.
I have one main processbook that I keep everything in such as the displays I use, ones I'm testing, all the other displays in the other books, and ones I'm in the process of building, plus I have a bunch of linked files in mine for easier navigation.
When I update the other books to release a new version it would be great to be able to just move the updated and new displays. I currently make copies of mine and delete everything out that shouldn't be released in the new book.

I need the solution to this problem as well. Anyone got any ideas?
I have made and maintain one particular display. I have been given a processbook that allows me to rotate through a number of displays. I just want to be able to put a number of pre-made displays into this processbook so it can rotat through them.
Anyone?

I don't like the idea and feel of a piw file so what we have done is to create one index file (pdi) with links (buttons) to BU's. Each BU wil have is own menu file and sub menus as required. This creates and webpage feel to the displays and it is very easy to navigate. There is no need to update, copy and paste or anything, we just update the menus/sub menus with new displays and buttons.
