Hi All,

Can Anyone tell me how to create an RTWebPart through C# code.

If it is not possible then how to edit or extend RTWebparts for an added functionality.

I have not found any forum or article regarding this topic. Please help.

Thanks

Hi Vivek,

PI-WebParts are developed by OSIsoft thus you would not be able to extend them, you could file enhancement requests with OSIsoft. Note, the next versions of PI-WebParts will be based on Silverlight technology.

An option for you would be to create you own web parts from the ground up that interact with PI-WebParts. In this manner you would connect to a PI-WebPart, get the relevant data and then your own developed web part does what it needs to with the data.

Hope this helps.

You cannot extend OSIsoft's web parts but you can create your own web parts - which can interact with OSIsoft's. On the OSIsoft vCampus website (http://vCampus.osisoft.com), they have a webinar called "PI WebParts 3.0 and Coding Custom Web Parts" under what they call the Auditorium, and a tutorial called "Creating Custom Web Parts" under the Library.
