I am trying to understand if you can build data relationships in a PI database like you can in relational databases. We are thinking about doing a demo of the PI software, but I cannot get a grasp of how this will all work.

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the PI-OLEDB driver (and PI-OLEDB Enterprise Driver which includes AF), it will give you a relational view of your PI data - along the lines of what I think you need. Also, make sure you take a look at AF when you consider PI.

Happy to help you understand more about PI, just give me a shout (or post on here).

The old way of doing it would be the Module database. AF is a better way of doing it now, of course it does depend on which version of Pi you have installed.

If you have ACE there are ways to build things in there similar to what you want.

good luck!
