Many of our tags come in pairs. Near Real Time and Half-Hour Average on the hour and half hour. The half-hour data is calculated at source substation and sent to PI via our SCADA system. There is a hysteresis on the near real time data so calculating averages from this is not accurate.

Unfortunately not all sites provide half-hour data. In this case I have tried to create both PE & Totali[sz]er tags to provide the 30 minute averages data on the half hour.

I cannot get either to work and was wondering what i doing wrong. I don't believe that PE will do the task for me as the syntax does not appear to have sync arguments.

My foray is also held up as each tweak I make causes a Scan Off status!

Guidance please.

I think I am now making progress with the Totaliser.

The source point I was working with recieves negative values and my totaliser point constantly returned zero no matter what I did. Then I stumbled upon OPTIONS.

Setting Options to NoClampZero prevents values <0 from being 'clamped' to zero.

More experimenting to do but at least i'm getting there. :-)

Hi Miles...the kind of problems I could get used to, the ones where they are resolved before I read the problem BigGrin

Are you now happy with the results your seeing or do you still require some input?

Hi Rhys, Almost sorted I think but not sure how to set the parameters for OPTIONS though.

Using "NoClampZero" on it's own was fine but when I added another paparameter (e.g. "OneAtStart") the Totaliser stops updating (no other attribute alterred!). I am not sure what to use as a separator; is it a comma, space, slash? I am currently trialing with a +ve data source so that i can omit "NoClampZero".

A colleague in Scotland has created a Tote tag (with the PI-SMT 3 tool - I'm using Excel PI-SMT Add-in 2.1.3) and it creates a TOTE tag with a space separator. But I've replicated that manually and nada!

This is one of those situations that when it works you say "Oh! That's how it should be done!" :-)
