Hi All,

I have a doubt on how does PI ACE recalculation works. I have written a code for batch process. When I recalculate the code, the output is working fine. However when I let it calculate on real time basis, it doesn’t work very well. Here is the situation;

The calculation is to add up the chemical batch for each shift per day. I registered the code to run every second because there is no fix time on when does the batch of the chemicals will be added in.
If I were to let the code runs on real time, it does add up the total of the chemicals, but only for 1 second. When it calculates the code on the next second, the output value will return to the original value (before it adds up). Below are some of the value for one of the tags for a clearer picture on this situation. The 3rd value (18.413) should be retained in the tag but unfortunately it doesn’t.

18.413 8/14/2011 9:05:52 AM

12.625 8/14/2011 9:05:54 AM
12.625 8/14/2011 9:05:55 AM

But when I recalculate the code, the value retains in the tag. BTW I have turn off the compression for the output tag just in case, but it still doesn’t work.

How is it possible that when I recalculate the code, the output is fine and when I let it calculates on real time, it doesn’t work. Can any one please explain on this weird behaviour? Is it because of the code written is wrong or maybe there is an information in ACE that I have overlook?

Any immediate response is very much appreciated. Thanks!
